ECI’s Space-Themed Polling Booth Boosts Voter Enthusiasm in West Delhi – Election 2025
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has always been at the forefront of innovative initiatives to boost voter participation and engagement. One such groundbreaking initiative, ‘Chandrayan Se Chunav Tak Bharat Ki Udaan Delhi Elections 2025’, was launched to celebrate India’s achievements in space exploration while enhancing the voter experience. Space Education Foundation’s Role in Vikaspuri Polling Booths
An exciting component of this initiative was the Safe Solar Observation Program, organized by the Space Education Foundation, which was invited by the Delhi District Administration to set up scientific engagement activities at polling booths in Vikaspuri.
The Safe Solar Observation was conducted at:
- Govt. Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya Block A, Vikaspuri
- Govt. Sarvodaya Vidyalaya District Centre, Vikaspuri
Under expert supervision, over 2,500 voters, along with their children, observed the sun and sunspots through professional telescopes, special eclipse glasses, and projection methods. This initiative allowed voters to enjoy a majestic real-time view of the Sun while participating in the festival of democracy.
The event was spearheaded by Dr. Nitin Shakya (IAS), SDM Patel Nagar, under the guidance of the Election Commission of India. It added a unique and scientifically engaging experience to the electoral process, making it more interactive and memorable.
