The true potential of the communities can be realized when they are provided with resources (education, knowledge, and people) to bring life to their ideas. SGVPKs aim to expose society to science communication and help them develop their ideas for societal benefits.

SPACE seeks to build on this fascination and brings innovation, passion, and total commitment to its vision of spreading the awareness and knowledge of astronomy and space sciences to the masses.

In order to popularise science, the spirit of scientific temperament, and process-led innovation across all parts of India irrespective of the physical, social or cultural barriers, Atal Innovation Mission is setting up SPACE Gram Vigyan Prachar Kendras (SGVPKs) across underserved/ unserved regions of India. SGVPK especially aims to provide scalable solutions to societal problems by targeting Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs). The idea is to bring out innovations by, for with, and in the community through directional infrastructural, financial, and learning support to ideate and design novel solutions for the sustainable transformation of their community.

At a Glance

SPACE Foundation has taken up an initiative to establish SPACE Gram Vigyan Prachar Kendras (SGVPKs). As a part of this initiative, SPACE Foundation will provide financial/technical support to gram panchayat and other rural samiti bodies to set up the SGVPK (SGVPK) to support, encourage, and would provide them with necessary infrastructure facilities and other value-added services.
